Bathroom Interior
Bathroom Interior drawn six ways, with the layout logic, the storage plan and the dimensions that make each one work in a real Bangalore flat.

Overview
Bathroom Interior, in plain specification
Written for the decision, not for the mood board.
We draw bathroom interior in six house styles because the same brief resolves very differently depending on the family it belongs to. The plan logic stays constant; the material, joinery and lighting change completely.
Bathroom Interior begins with the plan, not the palette. Where you walk, where the light lands, what has to be stored and how the room is used on an ordinary evening — those four decide the layout. Only then does the material direction have anything to work with.
Two homes can specify bathroom interior identically and get different results, because site conditions differ: slab level, wall plumb, humidity, water hardness and how the household lives. The specification is a starting point that we adjust against the survey.
Within bathroom interior specifically, one thing changes the decision: used in a bathroom, the exposure to water, heat and daily traffic decides the finish more than the appearance does.

Before you commit
How to choose bathroom interior
Six checks that prevent the failures we are most often called to fix.
- Start from how the room is actually used at 8pm on a weekday, not from a mood board. Every good plan is a use plan first.
- Fix the circulation before the furniture. A room where you cannot walk between two pieces without turning sideways has failed regardless of finish.
- Identify the one focal wall and commit to it. Rooms with three feature walls read as noise.
- Work with the daylight the room actually has. North light, west glare and a shaded courtyard need three different palettes.
- Decide the storage requirement in litres, not in cabinets. Households consistently underestimate this and then add furniture that ruins the plan.
- Set the electrical and lighting layout against the furniture plan before any ceiling work begins.
Bangalore
Bathroom Interior in Bangalore
What the city's climate, water, housing stock and society rules mean for this specification.
The Bangalore housing stock splits cleanly, and bathroom interior is specified differently for each half. New towers along the outer ring have regular layouts, compact utility areas and generous ceiling height; the older independent homes in the south and west have height, thicker walls and almost no two dimensions the same.
Balcony enclosure rules vary sharply between societies, and a few refuse them entirely. Anything involving a balcony gets checked against the society's own rules before design, not after — including in Indiranagar and Koramangala, where older buildings often have their own restrictions.
The mild climate is a genuine advantage: solid timber and veneer move far less here than in Delhi or Chennai, which makes craft detailing more durable and more affordable than it would be elsewhere. It is one of the few Indian cities where that is true year-round.
Hard borewell water in Whitefield, Sarjapur Road, Hebbal and Yelahanka leaves scale on glass, chrome and stone within months. Where the supply is hard we specify surfaces and fittings that tolerate it, and we tell the family the honest maintenance routine rather than leaving them to discover it.
For Bangalore homes we hold material with the grade and batch recorded, and we plan deliveries around society access rules rather than around our own convenience.
Sizing
Bathroom Interior by home size
Room dimensions below are the sizes we most often work to for bathroom interior, from a compact 1 BHK to a villa.
| Home size | Typical scope | Planning note |
|---|---|---|
| 1 BHK | 8×10 feet | Compact planning, one clear gesture |
| 2 BHK | 10×12 feet | Standard scope, most common brief |
| 3 BHK | 11×13 feet | Full scope with storage planned in litres |
| 4 BHK | 12×15 feet | Extended scope, bespoke elements |
| 4+ BHK / Villa | 14×18 feet and above | Villa scale, bespoke throughout |
Cost
What moves the price of bathroom interior
We quote line by line rather than per square foot, because these are the items that actually differ between two estimates.
- Joinery quantity, measured in running feet, which is the largest single line in most rooms.
- Finish level on the joinery faces.
- Ceiling and lighting complexity.
- Flooring, especially where the existing floor comes up.
- Furniture and soft furnishings, which are frequently left out of the initial budget entirely.
Process
How the work runs
Five stages, with the decisions each one locks.
We measure the space ourselves rather than working from the builder's drawing, note the services, water quality, daylight and society rules, and write down how the room is actually used. Bathroom Interior is specified against that survey, not against a catalogue.
Plans, elevations and details, with the specification written as grades and dimensions. You approve an elevation, not a render — this is the stage where changes cost nothing.
Material, finish, hardware and services are locked, and the estimate becomes a line-by-line document. We tell you exactly what this date locks and what can still change afterwards.
Factory production runs to the approved drawing while site work is prepared. Material is checked against the approved sample on arrival, in daylight, and stored correctly until the programme calls for it.
Installation, testing, snagging and a documentation file with drawings, warranties, decor codes and hardware models. A first-year service visit is scheduled at handover.
Living with it
Maintaining bathroom interior
The honest routine, and the mistakes that cost the most to undo.
Care and maintenance
- Re-coat high-traffic paint every four to five years; corridors and entrance walls fail long before bedrooms.
- Service the joinery once a year — hinge adjustment, runner cleaning, silicone check.
- Rotate soft furnishings and rugs to even out sun exposure.
- Keep a project file with paint codes, laminate decors, hardware models and photographs of the services before they were covered.
What goes wrong
- Designing the ceiling before the furniture layout is fixed.
- Too many finishes in one room. Three materials, used with intent, beat seven.
- Under-planning storage and adding it later as freestanding furniture.
- Choosing colour under showroom light rather than in the room's own light at the hour it matters.
Detailing
Bathroom Interior detailing notes
The small decisions that separate built work from assembled work.
Keep one continuous flooring plane through connected spaces; changing floor material at a doorway makes both rooms feel smaller.
Shadow gaps at skirting and ceiling let a room read as planes rather than as boxes, and they hide the tolerances of an Indian building.
A room needs one generous gesture — a long sofa, a full-height joinery run, a single large artwork — and then quiet around it.
Plan for the fan. Ceiling fans are a fact of Indian life and a beautiful ceiling with an afterthought fan is a compromise seen every day.
Questions
Bathroom Interior — answered
How long does a bathroom interior project take?
Four to six weeks on site for a single room within a larger fit-out, once design is signed off and materials are in. The design and approval stage before that is usually two to three weeks.
What should be decided first?
Use, circulation and storage. Everything visual follows those three; reversing the order is what produces beautiful rooms that do not work.
How is the budget usually split?
Joinery is normally the largest share, followed by finishes, then lighting and electrical, then furniture. Civil work is the item most often underestimated.
Can it be done in phases?
Yes, if the services and civil work are done in one go and the visible finishes are staged. Splitting the civil work across phases costs more than it saves.
Do I need to move out?
For a single room, no. For a full-home fit-out with civil work, most families move out for three to six weeks, and the schedule is written around that decision.
What is the warranty?
Lifetime on modular cabinetry, hardware and factory finishes in our standard scope, with the site work warranted separately. The handover file records what is covered.
Do you work on bathroom interior projects across Bangalore?
Yes — Bangalore is where most of our projects are, from apartments along Sarjapur Road, Whitefield and Hebbal to independent homes in Jayanagar, Indiranagar and Malleshwaram. We survey the space ourselves, work within the society's access and working-hour rules, and hand over with a documentation file. There is a dedicated page for our work in the city if you want the full picture.
Does Bangalore's climate or water affect this choice?
The climate helps and the water does not. Mild year-round temperatures are kinder to timber and joinery than almost any other Indian city, so craft detailing lasts. Hard borewell water in the eastern and northern corridors is the real constraint — it scales glass, chrome and stone, and it changes what we specify and what maintenance we ask the family to commit to.
